Safety Advisor - Oil & Gas

Reporting to the Vice President of Health & Safety you will be the dedicated H&S resource for Science & Technology (S&T) Functional Unit, in addition to Exploration & New Ventures (E&NV).

The role focuses primarily on reviewing S&T and E&NV's H&S Management Systems to ensure alignment to H&S Sub-Process, providing in-house H&S competencies as required by S&T and E&NV H&S Mgt System, and provide relevant coaching and mentoring to S&T and E&NV Line Management.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • H&S Planning ,Participate in development of S&T and E&NV H&S Strategic Planning, and ensure S&T and E&NV H&S Strategy activities are resourced and progress monitored adequately
  • Support S&T AND E&NV VP in communicating the S&T and E&NV H&S Strategy to relevant personnel/contractors
  • Support S&T and E&NV VP in conducting incident data analysis to identify trends, management system and organisational failures
  • Ensure areas for improvement adequately identified and fed into future S&T and E&NV H&S Improvement Plans
  • Support S&T and E&NV VP in the development of S&T and E&NV H&S Management System, Standards and implementation (i.e. relevant stakeholders)
  • Support S&T and E&NV VP in outlining expectations/responsibilities of S&T and E&NV personnel- through Authorities Matrix
  • Communicate with S&T and E&NV and/or H&S Client Manager H&S of any concerns relating non-compliance of H&S Standards at site level
  • Support S&T and E&NV VP in preparation of Quarterly Integrity Report.
  • Manage and develop integrity assurance activities.
  • Communicate and rollout integrity management standard to key contractors H&S Behaviours

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Communicate H&S Function initiatives with relevant S&T and E&NV Management
  • Communicate with S&T and E&NV VP and/or H&S Client Manager of any concerns relating to management of H&S
  • Support and train E&NV Mgt in responsibilities under relevant H&S E&NV ‘Manage Non-Operator Venture Sub-Process' Procedures, ie. H&S Due Diligence Reviews, Joint Venture Governance
  • Participate in H&S audits for Non Operator venture as required

 

This senior level role will be offered on a permanent basis working with major owner operator Oil & Gas Company.
