Details:

This session will focus on navigating the minefield that contractor safety management can become in particular we will focus on:

  • achieving a balance between too much and too little control over contractor activities and the affect this has on legal liability for safety;
  • methods for "pulling the strings" to improve contractor safety performance;
  • tips for structuring your safety system to account for the calibre of different contractors;
  • what to do when an incident occurs and more than one party is involved; and
  • examples of areas where principals have got it wrong.

For contractors, your approach to safety can be a selling point in a competitive market place. This session will also focus on the expectations about safety that principals bring to the relationship and how those expectations can be met.
